Greentown Low Pressure Sewer System
Sealed Bids for the construction of the Greentown Low Pressure Sewer System shall be received by Mr. Frank A. Pleva, County Administrator of the County of Lancaster, Virginia, until 2:00 p.m., local time, on Friday, August 14, 2015 at which time the Bids received will be publicly opened and read aloud. The Project consists of constructing a low pressure sewer collection system to serve 53 residences in accordance with the plans for “Greentown Sewer System”, dated May 29, 2015 with revision dates of June 26, 2015 and July 7, 2015, as prepared by the Bay Design Group. Bids shall not be submitted by e-mail or facsimile. Bids received after the aforementioned date and time shall be returned unopened. The county may waive informalities in the bids.
Bids will be received for a single prime Contract. Bids shall be on a unit price basis as indicated in the Bid Form. The method of bid withdrawal is specified in the Bidding Documents.
The Issuing Office for the Bidding Documents is the Bay Design Group, 14833 George Washington Memorial Highway, Glenns, Virginia, 23149. The Project Engineer is W. Prospective Bidders may examine the Bidding Documents at the Issuing Office on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and may obtain copies of the Bidding Documents from the Issuing Office at the address listed above and per the terms listed below.
Bidding Documents also may be examined at the Lancaster County Administrator’s Office, 8311 Mary Ball Road, Lancaster, Va., 22503, on Mondays through Fridays between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Printed copies of the Bidding Documents may be obtained from the Issuing Office, during the hours indicated above, upon payment of a non-refundable charge of $150 for each set. Checks for Bidding Documents shall be made payable to “Bay Design Group”. Upon request and receipt of the document charge indicated above plus a non-refundable shipping charge, the Issuing Office will transmit the Bidding Documents via delivery service. The shipping charge amount will depend on the shipping method selected by the prospective Bidder. The date that the Bidding Documents are transmitted by the Issuing Office will be considered the Bidder’s date of receipt of the Bidding Documents. Partial sets of Bidding Documents shall not be available from the Issuing Office. Neither Owner nor Issuing Officer (Engineer) will be responsible for full or partial sets of Bidding Documents, including Addenda, if any, obtained from sources other than the Issuing Office.
Questions about the meaning or intent of the Bidding Documents are to be submitted to the Engineer in writing. Questions received less than seven (7) days prior to the date for opening of Bids may not be answered.
A pre-bid conference will be held at 10:30 AM local time on Wednesday, July 29, 2105 at the County Administrator’s Office. Attendance at the pre-bid conference is not required, but is highly encouraged.
