Lancaster County, c/o Bay Design Group, P.O. Box 51, Urbanna, VA 23175; requests permission to install 202 linear ft (2,016 sq ft) of rip rap revetment, 1,744 sq ft of living shorelines, 3,394 sq ft of beach nourishment and 2 riprap breakwater structures totaling 135 linear ft (1,914 sq ft). Clean sandy fill is to be used in the living shoreline and beach nourishment installation. As part of the project 96 linear feet of 8' wide composite boardwalk will be installed along the central shoreline. A 6' wide by 40' long wooden boardwalk will connect the proposed accessible nature trail to the 466 S.F. fixed dock with 14 10" piles. Connected to the fixed dock is a 4' wide by 30' long aluminum gangway attached to a 376 S.F. floating dock. The floating dock will provide an ADA compliant kayak launch into Taylor Creek and be kept stationary by 4 attached 10" piles driven 17.14' below existing bottom. All measures to be installed along the shoreline of Taylor Creek as part of the new County park to be built on the parcel. Located off VSH 222 (Weems Rd) at the terminus of Park Creek Ln. Bob Sledd, c/o Chris Davis, 504 Smoketree Court, North Chesterfield, VA 23236; requests permission to install 384 LF of Flexamat along a graded back bank at the client's eroding shoreline. The bottom toe of the Flexamat will be buried in the upper tidal zone, with the exposed remainer in the RPA. An additional 116' of Living Shoreline above MLW will be installed using 2' high Quick Reef Oyster sills, backfilled with clean sand, and planted with Spartina Grasses with a gap included. Additional shoreline protection of 80 LF of 2' high Quick Reefs will be installed parallel to the shoreline curving at the point, including a 16' return on the NW end but open to the SE. Sand nourishment will total 40 cubic yards (1,817 sq ft) and 1703 sq ft of wetlands plantings will be installed along the eroded shoreline of the Western Branch of Taylor Creek. Instructions for Making Public Comment
Electronic Participation Meetings are conducted in a Zoom webinar format in which the board members and certain members of County staff ("panelists") may be visible on camera and will be able to speak, while the press corps and members of the general public ("attendees") will be placed in a "view-only/listen-only" participation mode.
When applicable (depending on the type of meeting being conducted), members of the public who wish to state their comments or questions must ask to be recognized by clicking the "Raise Hand" button near the bottom of the Zoom interface window. Telephone callers will be able to raise their hands by pressing *9 on their telephone keypad. Upon being unmuted, citizens should provide their name and district in which they reside and then state their question or comment.
Inappropriate or offensive comments or language will result in immediate dismissal from the meeting.
